These genres offer lots of creativity and imagination. Science fiction usually involves wild and wonderful settings and characters that all seem just a little bit possible because there is a scientific reality underlying them. Fantasy is often outside the realms of possibility, offering amazing settings, creatures, realms and the struggle for good and evil. 

Books in these genres give the reader a chance to suspend reality, think about what is possible and throw caution to the wind. Great for building the imagination, extending your vocabulary and reflecting on what part you would play if you were in the story. Excellent for developing role play, drama and other creative responses with the invitation to jump into the world of the story.
